40 years ago for Ford and GM is a very long time past and very very few of the vehicles are even driven today. Both of those cases were settled close to 30 years ago and both Ford and GM stepped up and paid out hundreds of millions of dollars and that was back when a million dollars meant a million dollars and was a lot of money. A million dollars today is just a fraction of the dollar value of back then.

Chrysler vehicles however, with the about 10+ years ago or the even 6 years ago (thru 2007) with the bulk of the vehicles still being constantly driven daily on the roads by families etc is not! Also having had Chrysler flatout refuse to do anything when presented the NHTSA documents really isn't going to help those with the problematic issues. Chrysler Corp built these vehicles did they not and not very long ago either. Is it the customer's fault for buying the Chrysler Corp made vehicles??? OR Is it Chrysler Corp who actually designed and manufactured the to be recalled vehicles??? Not hard to answer! How many more humans have to die in vehicle fires etc before the only one that can correct the vehicles they made steps up and fixes the problems they had made?
