I gave the rep the name of a local repair shop as well as Camping World. Going on a week with no response, my guess is wat you suggest, nobody qualified as well as not wanting to insure the work.
As much as a PIA it would be, my thoughts are that only the manufacturer can do it. My preference would be to remove the whole thing and do it right.
