We showed up to look at an older TC, my young wife, our baby and a naive me. It was a super nice older couple selling it. Did I mention how nice they were?
Back then the $750 was an awful lot of money to us. More than we had ever spent on any toy and more than one of our cars (a 1973 Pinto) cost.
They totally scammed us. It was rotten, nothing worked, every bit of plumbing was shot and I had to rewire most of it. I fixed it up and we used it for a few years but the rot was too extensive and I eventually left it at the dump.
In retrospect, it was a fairly cheap lesson learned. I don't trust ANYONE when it comes to buying used.
