VIDEO: Fishing In The Gifford Pinchot NF At Walupt Lake
We caught a bunch of little 8-10 inch Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout using spinning rods, casting bubbles, and flies. The bigger fish are farther out and deeper, boat required. We fished in the sun, we fished in the pouring rain from about 6 till dusk. Bring a good flashlight for the trail back. We let everything go since they were just little ones and we had plenty of chow in the truck camper. The fish were good little scrappers on the line. There is swimming but the water is cold being at about 4300 feet. Bugs not too bad but it is getting later in the season.
