I understand your passion to go camping with something fun and vintage but I'm afraid you are opening yourself up to lots of little disappointments and breakdowns. Having built and raced in SCCA for 12 years I know that you will continually be finding your weakest link in the truck.
Look at the current and past applications of the rotary engine; towing is not among them. Yes they win at LeMans and yes they power aircraft, but those racecars arrive at the track in a diesel truck. I spent over a year building a Dodge Dakota into a small racecar hauler because that is what I had to work with. Ended up selling it and buying a 1 ton dually because thats what everyone that made it to the track had. Even the motorhome owners end up throwing in the towel and buy a bigger truck or diesel pusher after enough breakdowns.
What you have is cool but you will find out that after all the stranded along the shoulder moments that it's not worth it.
