Vintage Towing -- Testing the Waters

Thanks John for being honest. That's why I posted. I want to know if I'm crazy for thinking about it.
I've read a few posts at www.mazdarepu.com about towing. Some have done it. One person reported seeing a guy tow his RX7 race car to events regularly. However, I don't have specifics and that's why I figured I would post here to get people's experiences towing with small trucks.
So if you see breakdowns in my future should I go forward with this, what do you think will happen first? What do you see as a weak link in the system? Is the transmission or rear axle going to overheat? Am I going to literally pull the frame off the wheels? I'm just curious. I know its hard to predict but maybe share some experiences as to what broke down on your Dakota.
