So if you see breakdowns in my future should I go forward with this, what do you think will happen first? What do you see as a weak link in the system? Is the transmission or rear axle going to overheat? Am I going to literally pull the frame off the wheels? I'm just curious. I know its hard to predict but maybe share some experiences as to what broke down on your Dakota.
The weak link on my Dakota was cooling. Had to have custom radiator built, braided hoses, higher quality water pump the list went on and on. As far as what your weak link would be; I have no guess. But your first breakdown will tell you. Then after that is repaired correctly and beefed up the next weakest part will fail
My guess for major failure would be the clutch. Since you have to rev this engine high to have any power you are going to have to slip the clutch more to get everything going. Doing that on a couple of camping trips and you'll start to feel the clutch going away.
Again, I'm glad that you are not taking this the wrong way. I want to be nice about the possible problems you may encounter going down this road.
