There were several reasons for switching the tire combination:
1) The old 7" rims would rub when turning and turning radius was very limited
2) The 215mm tires were so wide I could barely turn the wheel at slow speeds (no power steering)
3) The ride quality was harsh
4) The diameter was too small, creating extremely high revs at highway speeds
The new combo was chosen for the following traits:
1) Wheel size (14x6+0) is close to original (14x5.5+0)
2) There aren't many 6" wide rim options with 6x5.5 pattern
3) Tire width (195mm) was a slight improvement over original (185mm)
4) Tire diameter was spot on
5) White wall lettering matches the pin striping
6) A/T tread I could have done without, but it will probably help pulling in and out of camp sites.
I tried the door strap style mirrors. I couldn't close the door with them on so I had to return them. I settled on these...

I hope they don't do any damage but I couldn't find anything else that didn't involve drilling.
Thnxs for the info chuyler1, that explains why you did what you did.
