I think if I would be a volunteer, I would much rather be back at the base camp, and making pancakes and handing out coffee. They do not need any of us 50+ something and out of shape on the front lines, causing panic for the ambulance drivers who have enough on their plates.
I am sure that they have a great need for people to feed the fire fighters, and others that are serving on the front lines.
About the 'most' I would want to do as far as front line firefighting would be refueling the fire trucks! Or feeding the firemen!
