Do you have Diesel emissions testing in BC? Around here in Ontario it's just look for smoke in the exhaust, or so I'm told. But the gassers get the full treatment if you live in an urban area. We don't have to worry about it in rural areas. Imagine in California it's more rigorous.
Me, I don't mind the regs at all, having spent some time in European cities before they started cutting emissions. And after seeing on the TV how bad it can get in Chinese cities.
