You worry is valid. Ford, Chevy and Dodge truck owners complained of the same thing on many models. They would bring their truck in for an oil change and their truck would do weird things when they get it back. They did not know that their truck was re-flashed or even know what that means. Anybody remember the infamous horn honk re-flash? :B
The solution is to get something like this. Things like this prevent any monkey business to your vehicle.
