My Touareg 3.0 TDI goes at least 10K between AdBlue fills. I do it myself using cheap stuff from the auto parts store that still meets the required VW certification. No big deal. If the 2.0 is only going 5,000 miles it must have a very small DEF tank compared to the Touareg.
