That may change in 2016, or as technology eveolves, but my guess is right now GM doesn't really care if they sell more of them.
Think there's little if any profit margin in any of the electric vehicles right now (Nissan Leaf, Tesla included). And some are just "compliance vehicles" made for California and such.
But as quantities and experience goes up, so will profits. I don't imagine Toyota made any money on Hybrids when they first came out.
And IIRC VW introduced something like 20 different electric or hybrid models at the Geneva auto show, just before this diesel fiasco.
