The concern over battery life is forefront for us as well. We took the plunge on the first one because we calculated that even if the range decreases by 40 percent over 10 years it will still need our daily needs. The battery is expected to decrease about 20 percent in 10 years. This will be a very personal decision for each owner very much affected by their needs and wants. We tend to keep our vehicles for 12 to 15 years and then kinda want to get caught up on the new technologies. We tend to buy almost new or in this case new but we don't have expensive tastes either. It will be interesting to see how manufacturers target the various buyers. For many it will not be about the range though. For us anything over 150 KM is a waste of money for us for our commuter vehicle. Hopefully as the batteries get bigger they continue to offer smaller alternatives.
