Electric cars are usually loss leaders for car manufactures. They use them to meet the Cafe standards.
Now if everyone when electric cars tomorrow it would overload the electric system and electric bills would sky rocket more then they have already skyrocketed. The real solution to use diesel engines they way they were designed and grow our own fuel. Which would get rid of the need for nearly all the emissions nonsense on them.
