wall studs

Does anyone know of the most common or "standard" type of wall stud for an early 90s prowler? I am opening up a wall this weekend and would like to get some materials before hand. no way they are 2x4 framed like a house?

  • never thought to rib 2x4's that's likely the winner. 2x2 seems wrong unless there is a ton of thick covering. the walls are too thick and im sure I wont find 2x3 easily available
  • My success of any given project seems to be greatly diminished if I try to buy the parts I need before I take it apart, lol. The main studs in my 1998 Terry were aluminum, but there was a lot of wood structure in there also. I rebuilt mine with 2x4's that I ripped to the size I needed at the time.
  • 2x3 is typical. Usually pine as it is cheaper and lighter that Hem/fir.
