I agree that as long as they can get someone to buy for a higher price, they will sell at a higher price. Until supply catches up with demand, that's going to be true.
I disagree that discounts will never come back. The big players can't afford to let others undercut them and take market share. The exception is right now, they are cleaning up production problems and simply can't meet demand. One they start catching up, expect them to start fighting for market share like they always do.
