I remember the naysayers blasting the Duramax's aluminum heads. Everybody's brother's neighbor's cousin had a Duramax with cracked, and melted heads. Lol.
Some of the guys who would never buy a diesel engine with aluminum heads now have no choice but to buy a diesel engine with aluminum heads. Hmmmmm........
My diesel still has an iron head...
But yeah, in general, diesels are trying to lose weight to help boost fuel economy. The upcoming Cummins ISV is aluminum heads IIRC.
