I can't change others people driving habits, although I'd like to. I pretend every other driver is out to get me and drive accordingly. After a close call I think about what if anything I could of done to prevent it.
(I see you have an older Dodge in your profile. I've got an old one also. Couple weeks ago I called our insurance company to see if there is any type of insurance I could buy in case some nut takes me out. Big difference between what they are worth and a new one. It's going to hurt me if I have to replace mine because of someone else's driving).
Ha, actually unincorporated Auburn, but I avoid BD every chance I get. Still have to drive thru it 10x a week. 5 streets, 5 patrol cars. Nuff said! No accidents there though!
Ya, on the truck thing, I don't know if you can get agreed value on it, like a boat or RV.
But you're right, even though the resale and NADA is good on them, it's still a huge departure from newer that you'd have to replace with, without searching for a unicorn truck. Doesn't help, but a big reason for this, is the early emissions trucks = less sales those years, bad Econmoy high fuel prices = low sales the same years. Now there's a huge hole in the used inventory of big pickups from like 08 to 2012 ish and the older ones are even more used up from those that didn't trade up.
Think you're just stuck n be glad they're worth more than they should be for their age.
BTW, being able to buy new ram 25/3500 Tradesman 4x4 diesels for $40k or less takes the sting out of it had to happen. The rest of them, either paying sticker price like the Seattle dealers charge or $20k more for leather and a better stereo basically, doesn't help either.
Alright lunch time over......
