Yep, I agree...
Our X- old neighbors...She couldn't drive because of a mental capacity, having a lot of strokes. When her drivers license expired, state gave her a WA state ID card. And he could hardly see because of diabetes . WA state has him an endorsement on his license. Drive within 5 miles of address listed on front (his home) and during daylight hours only. (close by driving to get food, dr appointment etc)
So to solve that problem they would go out driving when she was in her right mind. She would sit in passengers seat using binoculars and would tell him what color the lights were.
To be honest, they were probably the safest drivers on the road. They knew if they had any problems they were done for.
After she passed away, 3 or 4 times I drove his motor home to Salt Water state park, where he would camp by himself. But I guess just wasn't the same without her. He would call me when he wanted me to drive it back home. He gave his motorhome to their kid in his 30's. Who didn't do any maintaence at all. After about 6 years M/H dry rotted out in our rain. After he died, kid inherited everything, he sold the house. Motorhome last seen couple years ago with blue tarps over it parked down by stadiums on 4th with other blue tarp RV's claiming to be homeless. Sort of sad. I still look up the kids name on JILS (Jail inmate look service for King County). He's a frequent customer.
