I think the thought process was through traffic would only need two lanes, as most was headed in town it's self.
I reality there is three lanes north for sure, and not sure about south bound, as ther is a collecter distribution lane for sure north bound, and I think south also.
My solution is to take I405 through Bellevue. We did that bringing the Copper Canyon home from Burlington, more lanes!
I actually came 405 to 167 to 512 to I5 just south of Tacoma!
