Hey tater, dish soap removes any wax that may be on your vehicle and contain chemicals that can remove grease and some contain abrasives. So go ahead and use whatever you care too. Having been involved in the higher end of classic show cars and expensive race cars, i have been involved with some of the top manufacturers of care car products in the US.
Their experience and products speak for themselves. If you ever decide to really want to learn, i can help with that.
Try offering something constructive .
Tater....tater salad? LOL
I offer plenty of constructive advice, based on experience, not unlike you.
The main difference is I can separate reality and reasonableness from wild absolute claims like some folks tend to make.
I completely understand that dish detergent does remove wax and that it is harsher than soaps designed car washing.
And fwiw, I don't use it regularly....anymore.
Sounds like you have some fabulous memories that you like to share and you're not totally off base, but we're talking about washing a travel trailer once in a while, not a quarter million dollar car with a $50k paint job.
Sure if one goes through the trouble of treating their camper like a concours restoration, complete with NOT leaving it out in the sun all year at a seasonal site, lol, your point is valid.
Quick question, how many car washes with dish soap does it take to eat through average factory clear coat?
And take your average nice daily driver vehicle. How much paint damage is done from contaminants, UV, road salt, debris and just general exposure to the environment both at rest and at speed?
BTW love the other comment about my piles of junk sitting outside....if only you knew and if only I gave a darn what you thought, maybe we could argue about that, but we can't....
Cheers!
