thomasmnile,
I see you are bright enough to find one of the 7 web sites giving the info even if Rico etc isn't. Very difficult to find if you really want to isn't it, NOT!
2 of them have breakdowns and yes it includes Cummins made for the Italian owned and run Chrysler Corporation's Mexican mase and imported pickups. Go back a re-read my post above.
It's pretty much common knowledge amongst the people who have the need or want to know. Can't help those in self-denial though.
You may have noticed that ib516's constantly repeat posted graph is labeled: "2012 U.S. sales retail + FLEET - 1 ton pickup trucks" is purposely a parsed cherry picking effort to tell only a 1/4 truth. Also notice ib516 did NOT post the web page link, so I will so all can see the real truth and facts. GM does NOT participate in fleet sales and hasn't for years and it's a big part of Ford and Ram pickup sales. Only a little over half the 2012 Ram 1 ton pickups had the Cummins diesel option. The rest of Ram HD pickups had the hemi gas engine which are made in Mexico.

This thread is about the Cummins engine and they are used in 3/4 (2500HD) Rams also and ib516 conviently omitted the web link as usual but there it is. Go to the link and see in actuality a breakdown of what the true sales of all HD and also for 1/2 tons retail & fleet Ford, GM and Ram pickup sales were for 2012. 5 graphs spelling it all out for you. Again, GM does NOT participate in fleet sales and hasn't for several years.
I have nothing against a Cummins for a pickup. However, I do have a problem with posting half truths or simply knowingly false or parsed info as every honest person should.
If you don't want to take the time to link to the graphs, here is the numbers:
2012 3/4 ton retail & fleet pickup sales:
GM 2500 HD 115,304 total 81,909 + 33,395
Ford F-250 HD 103,460 total
Ram 2500 HD 54,267 total
2012 1 ton retail & fleet sales:
Ford F-350 70,150
Ram 3500 39,453
GM 3500 37,423 27,740 + 9,683
2012 total U.S. retail + fleet pickup truck sales:
GM 641,590
Ford 621,212
Ram truck 280,462
2012 percentage of the Big 3 PICKUP truck retail + fleet sales market:
GM truck 41.16% NO fleet sales
Ford truck 40.26%
Ram truck 18.17%
Both GM and Ford pickup sales are way over 2 to 1 in 2012 sales compared to Ram. Nothing new as this is has been about the same since the 1950's and still is today! What are these Ram truck blowhards talking about anyway and the number tell it like it is! Now you know the truth!
