I have a 2016 Northstar Adventurer 8.5 with the removable wrap, the bottoms of the compartment is bare wood. I am a hobbyist boat builder and plan to coat the interior of the aft compartments with a coat of epoxy, hope that will help preserve the wood in the compartments. As a boatbuilder I am impressed with the quality of wood in my Northstar!
