I just helped a fellow camper last week with a Suburban 6 gal. heater that would not fire on gas. He was getting enough gas but the igniter wasn't sparking. We removed the igniter and found that the points were clean. Next we removed the igniter from its mount to the heater body. We cleaned the mating surfaces and the problem was solved. Apparently the mount provides the ground needed to make the igniter work. The hardest part was r&r the covers over the igniters. The screws are very small and one is very hard to get at.
