Great info. Calcium is okay, but don't like the idea of aluminum. It seems to me that aluminum is a known health risk. Is there alternative to an anode rod with aluminum in it?
Yep......the magnesium type.
Aluminum will last much longer but can collect deposits on the rod which can make it harder to remove thru drain hole....plus dissolving in the water.
Magnesium will dissolve faster than aluminum rods but can interact with microbes in water source and make water stink...sulfur smell
