Water PSI regulator

I ended up getting the Watt's N55 from E-bay(42.00 dollars). I place mine after the water filters and I can say without a doubt, the water flow rate has increased tremendously. The shower actually feels more residential now that ever before.

x2 on regulator failure. I was having trouble getting decent pressure to the trailer using a pressure regulator. I had replaced the water inlet thinking the back flush valve had failed. Didn't help. Just for grins I replaced the pressure regulator. I got good pressure. Would never have believed a pressure regulator could become faulty, or plugged up. They can!

I'm also using a Watts regulator. And no, you don't need a regulator for the black tank flush. At a campground I dump and go, then rinse at home since I can run the waste hose down the sewer cleanout in my front yard.

In our travels we have seen water pressure up to 195 lbs in a few camp grounds. My hose and none of the pipes in my MH will stand that so we always put the reg before the hose. Also if a reg fails it fails closed so you get no water thru it. We do carry a spare.

Always use a pressure regulator. I've seen pressure at the city water spigot as high as 120 psi. That's enough to blow the plastic plumbing lines in any trailer.

Always use a separate hose for flushing the black tank. If using the hose for fresh water you could get back flush into that hose and contaminate your drinking water.

I'm not new to camping but am also new to water hook-up with tanks to flush. This is a great conversation for me. Thanks for asking the question.

I went from one of those 45psi brass non adjustable regulators to a watts adjustable. Big difference in water pressure. I set it to 52lbs and the water pressure coming out of the faucet is way better. Newer trailers use Pex tubing which has a higher psi threshold than older trailers. It's used in housing all across the country.
The black tank rinse hose needs to be a different one. It can be just a reg garden hose if you wish. I happen to use an older fresh water hose that we replaced with a new one.
Just an FYI when dumping the tanks I like to dump the black tank 1st, then dump the grey. While the grey is dumping I leave the black tank valve open and run the black tank rinse. That gives it a good 5 mins or longer rinse time. I purchased one of those clear hose attachments and it's amazing how much brown water keeps coming out after 10 mins of rinsing.

The black tank flush gets its own hose and its own storage area.

Don't worry too much about water PSI on this hose. I'd also leave the black tank gate valve open when flushing.

I carry a separate hose for that. I use it once or twice a year. Since there is no pressure in the system, it can't be shut off from within, no regulator is needed. You only have this hooked up for a short period.

I do not use a regulator on the city water as when I have tried along with my water filter, I could not get water out of the shower.
