I use "Mothers" wash and wax.
I wash the trailer with soap and water then rinse, and then re-wash again with the wash and wax.
I do it after the first trip or two when the weather warms and again at the end of the season.
I am sure the more work you put into it the better the protection, but I am too darned old start waxing stuff now; I hated it as a kid and things have not changed much.
