Well if you want to work with facts then tow the trailer with 3 links hanging, then try 4 and 5. That will get you the facts. Maybe your rear end is a little stiffer or loser then normal, maybe the truck will like being a little nose heavy or light. Get it close by weight like you are doing but don't be afraid to try a couple links one way or another.
Heck you are already running right close to max Tow weight as it is so I would be thinking that you are going to want to run your equalizers fairly tight to get as much weight back on the front as you can. Seams like one would be worrying about the truck trailer combo not being very good instead of trying to make it work with the hitch or maybe spend some time on whats really needed in the trailer to reduce some weight.
