The number of links is the least important number involved. It is the geometry of the hitch and the desired weight and towing results that matter. Giving the answer in links is about like saying that it "Is as long as a piece of string". If it takes five links for "you" to get things right, there is no use me telling you that you have to have three like me. I realize that it is easier to count links than go to the scales.
