the tow vehicle's owners manual will state the minimum tongue or trailer
weight that requires using a WDH.
most times it will state towable amounts with and without a WDH.
then there's common sense, like towing a 30' TT with a SUV.
of course, if you bought a 1 ton dually, then you wouldn't need a WDH to pull a Jayco HTT.
