Truck with permanent camper is called ClassC and that is not what you have.
I've been using my pickup beside carrying camper as well, so for other occasions I bought camper shell for $200 and was installing it for tools hauling.
Obviously manure or dirt hauling is out of question.
According to the DMV Camper shells do not qualify. Here is all the long and tedious text from CA DMV website. The definition is permanent living quarters. Camper shells do not satisfy the intent.
Not trying to engage in debate at all with you or anyone else here. Would LOVE to be proven wrong. I appreciate thinking outside the box and trying to find legal loopholes.
