Yes, my current tires are rated at 3750 lbs per tire at 80psi. I will probably get new tires next spring.

This 8060lb rear axle weight is a prime example of why dual rears or 19.5" wheels and tires are necessary when hauling a heavy truck camper.

Xpd77, you are probably still under your F350's rear axle capacity, which is good… and there are suspension upgrades that can help with ride quality and leveling. However, you are well over the rear tires maximum rated capacity. To make matters worse, I am not aware of any load range E tire that can meet your need.

Since you asked for thoughts from the weight police, here's mine; Next spring is far too long to wait! You need to think very seriously about the fact that you are exceeding your tire load rating! The way I see it you have two options;
A) Replace your current truck with a dually (I s'pose a dually axle/wheel swap is also possible)
B) Replace your tires & wheels with 19.5's with a load rating of G or H

And finally, until such time a you do have an appropriate truck and/or tires, I would suggest that you increase your tire pressure to 85psi cold, and keep your speed low (hint: Michelin's Truck Tire Data Book claims that at speeds below 40mph, you gain an additional 9% load capacity).

Well, you are in a pickle here. You have exceeded even the design factor for your suspension. I enjoy reading how some posters say there is a design factor of 30% built in. What comedy that is. Do you think Dodge, Ford or Chevy wouldn’t advertise that extra 4,000 lbs of capacity, when the maximum load and towing capacities are such an important marketing tool? While I worked with Ford engineers on their SVT program and had them riding in my race cars and driving their cars, with all these wires going everywhere to monitor. The design standard that was often spoken, is less than 10%.

Personally I would be hesitant in carrying my family and putting others at risk on the road with being more than a ½ ton overweight. Sure, like someone once said; they live in Florida and travel just to and from the beach, so it is not like they are driving in the mountains. But, there are those places where people run stop signs, change lanes and enter roadways unexpected requiring one (in this case a top heavy vehicle) to take corrective action to avoid a potential collision.

Be sure not to concentrate on just the tires. Remember the Wheels the tires are mounted on and check to see if you can put a hotter brake pad on your calipers. But remember, you are going to have increased wear on your unsprung parts, such as bearings and axles, as well as your drive line (transmission/rear gears/driveshaft/Main bearings), as well as your steering components.

Just to eliminate the possibility of scale error, can you take it to another one? I think mello mike had the same issue thinking he was overweight. Took it to another scale and sure enough, the previous weigh-in was inaccurate.

CAT scales are rarely ever inaccurate. Read their guarantee on the ticket. It is cheaper for them to calibrate the scale regularly than to have to be stuck honoring their guarantee.

The current tires on the truck may be rated for 3750 each, but you have to remember that the Ford wheels are only rated to 3500 each. The wheel is weakest link by which the maximum RAWR on a SRW F350 is calculated. Tires are definitely a concern, but even if you could get a higher rated tire, your wheels would still be a problem.

I'm gonna say that weight seems spot on for a fully loaded 811...also, other than the few tires that seem to deviate from the TRA guidelines (Such as the Dura-Grappler LT285/75R17 E128R...which won't work in your case) you are probably out of luck getting a std LT tire to work.

Looks like you have a similar truck to mine which is a 2011 F-350 SB 4X4 6.7L with 20" wheels. The rear GAWR is 7000 lb and the 20" Michelin tires (LT275/65R20/E 126 R) are rated at 3750 lbs each:

When I went shopping for trucks, I was surprised at the low payload capacity of a 3/4 ton and so I went for the 1 ton.

Even still, I am only hauling a Northstar 850SC popup which has a dry weight of 1960 lbs. So if I add 350 lbs for water, 500 lbs of gear and 500 lbs of passengers and 120 lbs tongue weight for my boat I am very close to the advertised payload capacity of 3418 lbs.

The dry camper rear axle weight (no passengers or gear) was a modest 5300 lbs.
