I have had this set up 4 years. I never really have to go above 4000 RPM (Max HP/Torque is 4400 RPM). Towed up Highway 30 today in Oregon. No issues. 65ish all the way home on I-5. My only issue is the MPG and it really isn't an issue. I would not camp if I were worried about MPG. Really I don't need a diesel for a 7500lbs trailer. Maybe when I retire, but this is a dedicated tow vehicle.
I will say with E-2 hitch and long wheel base truck. It is rare occurrence to get any type of sway or porposing. Truck towed a small 5th wheel before this. Has never missed a beat. It is paid for and does exactly what I ask it to do, take the Family and I camping.
