Recommended tongue weight for trailers is 12-15% of your gross trailer weight and most everybody takes their RV to the GVWR weights. Using that calculation will give you the weight rating that will work for your WD bars. We've used the add-on sway control slide mechanisms in the past, and usually only installed them when windy conditions were encountered. If the Equalizer or the Reese SC (sway control) WD hitches are reasonably priced, they both have excellent built-in friction sway controls. Our 7500# trailer has never experienced anything but slightly mild sway using our Reese SC set-up.
