Weigh the trailer and get the real tongue weight. ;)
There is a way to use a bathroom scale (google it) or you can buy a Sherline TW scale for 140.00.
As an example of the TW, my posted dry TW was 475# or so as per the mfg.
When trailer optional equipment (AC, elite package and other packages) was added , the mfg did not weigh the trailer again as it left the factory.
Upon delivery I then added one 75# battery and full 30# tanks, i was told it would be about 750#. Well, it was until i loaded up the trailer with all my stuff which wasn't so bad until my DW added her stuff and im now proud to admit my real TW is about 950#.:S
You can always blame the DW if all else fails.
