Go see it, inspect it or hire an expert to inspect it. Touch it, smell it, crawl all over it, under it, on top of it....BEFORE you pay for it.

It might "look clean" in the pictures, but it's 11 years old....Save yourself some grief.

And, you have the wrong ball size, and you need a weight distribution hitch and you probably don't have enough truck for a 10K trailer....and...

GVWR without telling us the CCC means nothing but even if we assume a dry weight of say 7000 lbs (not unreasonable for a trailer this size) you'll most likely run out of payload capacity with the gross tongue weight a trailer of this size will place on the truck.

You just asking if this trailer has a 2" coupler (it will be 2 & 5/16") tells me you have a LOT to learn before buying any trailer. You sure won't be dropping this trailer coupler just on a ball and calling it good, you'll unquestionably need weight distribution / sway control as well.

Time to establish just how much your truck really weighs with a full tank of gas and as a result how much it's real world payload capacity may be. No point in buying a trailer you can't tow. ;)

No offense intended but from the questions you've asked I'd suggest you defer this purchase and spend some time boning up on the subject as you're not anywhere near yet ready for buying any trailer and all the issues it will bring with it, especially one this old. You can start by reading as much as you can here on the forums where you'll find a lot of good information if you take the time. :)

Please for your own good look it over in the day light with some one that knows trailers (campers) if at all possible. Makes me think of a young guy and his wife that pulled in to a spot next me on night a few years ago that he had just bought and how the seller was just guy. The next morning we looked it over and it had so much water damage it looked like it was only about a step from the junk yard, I really felt sorry for the kid. So please don't go sight unseen.

Just trying to understand before I comment. You want purchase a 2005 TT without seeing it and without a pro inspection? Are used 2005 TTs that rare? This is a joke, right?

No offense like the others say, but from the questions you ask I'm going to assume you are a complete newbie to trailering with very little experience/knowledge on the subject. That is WAY too much trailer for any 1/2 ton truck. Buying it with your current tow vehicle would be your first mistake. Taking it on the owners word and sight unseen would be your second.

I would suggest you pass for now and educate yourself first.

As previously stated, I think that buying a used travel trailer sight unseen is inviting all sorts of problems. Just because you are buying through Ebay means nothing. If anything goes wrong it will still be up to you to prove fraud. Ebay is not an insurer. This trailer is 12 years old and as such is long in the tooth for a travel trailer. Touch it,taste it and then have a mechanic inspect it.
Most 1/2 tons are limited to a gvwr trailer of 8000 pounds with payload being the limiting factor.
Even brand new travel trailers are very affordable. The downside to ownership is that storage and repairs can be very expensive (roof repairs,water leaks, etc.) and on older models can exceed the cost of purchase. I suggest you spend some time and visit an RV show to get an appreciation for something that best suits your needs. You won't regret it.

upkeep what should do I need to know? I haven't owned a travel trailer it will see use monthly usage at best. but lets say we don't use it as much what do i need to know?

Travel trailers require a good amount of routine maintenance and checking for things that come apart while the trailer is bouncing down our bad roads. They are all put together, pretty much the same. The interior systems (plumbing, heating, stove / oven, refer, AC, entertainment, etc) are made by subcontracting companies, of which there are only a few. Those items will be common with many trailer brands.

Due to the regular maintenance (mentioned above), the condition of a used travel trailer has little to nothing to do with what brand it is, and a lot to do with how it has been taken care of. Especially, when it is ten years old.

The trailer has electric brakes and you'll need a 2 5/16" hitch ball mounted in a good weight distributing hitch.

Forget about that mythical tow rating you've read about your truck. That number is what the truck could tow under perfect conditions. Those perfect conditions DO NOT include passengers, aftermarket accessories, or cargo in, or on the tow vehicle. Every pound of people, pets, accessories, or cargo added to the tow vehicle, reduces it's max tow capacity and available payload by an equal amount. Normally, you'll run out of payload, before you get close that max tow weight number.

Check your drivers door post, for a tire / loading sticker. It will show a number for max cargo / occupant weight. That is the trucks capacity to carry combined weight of people, pets, cargo, aftermarket accessories (bed liner, bed cap, floor mats, roof rack, etc), weight distributing hitch (about 100 lbs), and loaded tongue weight from the trailer.

Average loaded tongue weight is 12 - 13 percent of loaded trailer weight. If you use that trailer's 10,000 LB gross weight, it would calculate a tongue weight between 1200 and 1300 lbs. Add the weight of a WD hitch and the trailer would be eating up to 1400 lbs of your payload. There are many 1/2 ton trucks that don't have the payload to carry that, along with passengers and cargo in the truck bed.

I would not recommend sight unseen, when buying a used travel trailer.

I have towed some in the past but never had to pay attention to the weight (mostly small trailers)

I drove three hours (after talking to owner) to look at a 2003 trailer a few years ago. Owner talked up the trailer and the pics on craigslist looked really good.

In person, the trailer was a mess. The pics were actually a couple years old, and the owner had not been maintaining the trailer at all. Soft spots all over the place he didn't think were a big deal among other several red flags.

I wouldn't trust ebay protection to cover you if you buy someone's junk. They are a multi-billion dollar company with high paid lawyers who's only job is to protect them, not you.

I wouldn't trust buying it without seeing it myself...and I have been scammed buying stuff from ebay..and not everything is guaranteed by ebay... I wouldn't buy an rv off eBay that's for sure... and you definitely need to know towing weights... but the rest you will learn... I'm watching plenty of you tube videos and asking experienced rv ppl for the rest...
