well may end up getting a travel trailer this week!

No offense like the others say, but from the questions you ask I'm going to assume you are a complete newbie to trailering with very little experience/knowledge on the subject. That is WAY too much trailer for any 1/2 ton truck. Buying it with your current tow vehicle would be your first mistake. Taking it on the owners word and sight unseen would be your second.

I would suggest you pass for now and educate yourself first.
