I believe that the company uses nylon bushings from new. If upgraded bushings are needed, I guess they would already be in there?
The idea of grooves is to provide a path so that the grease can travel to where it is needed. The grooves also allow grease to flow in as opposed to being blocked by a surface held tight against the hole. Many have reported problems getting grease in and I offered a solution.
Grooved bushings cost a bit more and might be the factor why they are not offered.
