It pays to have a good list and double check everything. We still may forget something. It is usually something that is not on the list and not real important. Most of the time it is just a minor annoyance and it doesn't affect our trip. The more camping that you do, the better that you get at packing for it. A lot of the important items never leave the camper.
We have our duties when it comes to camping. Mine is the outside work like making sure everything is ready to tow, properly hooked up, tires checked, LP full, water full, etc. The DW's job is to do the inside items. I usually don't check her and she doesn't check me. For us, it would be annoying.
