What 19.5" All Terrain Tires?

Hello,

I'm considering buying Ricksons for a 2004 Dodge 3500 single rear wheel truck.. I'm wondering what all terrain Load Range G tires you all use.

TIA,

    Thanks.

I'm going to be doing off road or Jeep trails but I will be in snow occasionally and on gravel roads as well. The truck will probably be my daily driver.

    Thanks for your further thoughts.

Don't expect much. Mine did ok in some snow but a little ice had them spinning that was under some patches of snow. I take my truck hunting and travel a lot of gravel roads as well. Now I didn't have my TC on in the snow and I'm sure it would have helped quite a bit...just realize that 19.5's are stiff and made to carry a load first...traction will always be second. If you live with that....I can say they are awesome at what they do and I do love them.

A second set for off-road work would be ideal if you venture out off-road a lot....but that is a pain and more $$$$.
  • My DynaTrac PD890's did well in snow and mud. Some people had trouble getting these balanced, but they worked without issue for me. These are LRH 16-PR tires in the 245/70R19.5 size, so you do not need to inflate them as much to carry the same weight. They are open shoulder tires and make some growl off the front - Look for closed shoulder tread if you want quieter tires.
  • I am running Toyo M608s but only have a couple thousand miles on them so far, they make a little noise. They were a little squirmy at first but are starting to harden up a little as they heat cycle.

  • Thanks.

I used Hankook DH01s on my F350 SRW. They may be more aggressive that what you want. A common choice is the Michelin XDS2.

Yeah I have XDE2's. I don't think you can get more aggressive. However, they are nothing to brag about either.

What is your main goal? Mine are sipped even and the least aggressive and tractable tire I've owned. They work but don't expect much from any 19.5 tire IMHO.
