- VulcaneerExplorerI think they are so you can more easily hook up those blue neon lights under your truck.
- Captain_ObviousExplorerThe up fitter switches are separate from these wires. This wire harness is for customer added equipment. There is an additional 10amp wire under the dashboard called "customer access" for adding equipment. These wires are present so you don't have to run additional wires thought the firewall.
- MR_MACExplorerYes, thanks. The brake ctl is factory installed, the truck is super duty with a tow pkg. -- never used, also has four switches on dash right next to brake ctl marked AUX 1, 2, 3, & 4, they have small lights on them that light up when I flip them up, these are factory installed also. TK is 2006. they don't pwer up the wires. ------- ?????
- MarslandExplorerI tend to agree with with jerem0621. On the Ford pickups I've had with tow package (prior to Ford having an OEM brake controller in the dash) there was a pre-wired socket under the dash near the steering column and they came with a pigtail to adapt the aftermarket brake controller to that socket.
- jerem0621Explorer IIThose are NOT for a break controller.
Those wires pre threaded through the firewall.
There should be counterpart wires under the dash probably tied up. I am not sure about the wires on the firewall side but for the wires on the passenger side of the firewall under the dash
1 of them is hot with the ignition on
1 of them may be hot all the time
The others are just pre threaded for you to run your accessories..
Thanks!
Jeremiah - Do you have the upfitter switches on the dash?
- Perrysburg_DodgExplorerMe 3...pics would help to confirm it.
Don - ib516Explorer IIMe too.
- kaydeejayExplorerSounds like connections for a brake controller to me.
