I tow heavy, so I use the best oil/gearlube/filters and so on I can find. I keep my rigs usually 300K and in my opinion it is worth the extra money. If I were to trade rigs every few years I would run the cheapest of everything and not worry about it.
You say a new truck will be ordered soon so buy the cheap oil. Well not what I would do either but most oils will do what you want on the good brands.
