After pondering whether to replace my single 12v battery with two 6-volt batteries or a solar panel, I decided on the solar panel. 100-watt. Installed it yesterday.
While in the evening shade (sun behind neighbor's house), it indicated it was charging, and my battery was only showing one of three lights on the controller. Battery Bug said I was at 12.4 volts.
Late this morning, I checked, and I had all three lights on the battery indicator, and Battery Bug said I was at 14.4 volts. Got a full charge (according to controller, and Battery Bug) without having any direct sun. I am happy! Should be able to boondock indefinitely with this setup.
Also removed the door knob, and replaced with a flush-mount latch. Much easier for the DW to open the door! Had to do some cutting with a jigsaw, but it is worth it.
