I'm not sure I understand why that's dumb joeshmoe. They seemed to work fine. The only time I used them was when I winterized. Why is that dumb? And please don't make fun of my ignorance as seems to happen sometimes on this website. Before I started this I didn't even know what PEX or a Flare-it fitting was. A plastic, pressurized line exposed to the elements is generally not a good idea. It's one of those things that should not be a problem, but the builder made it a problem by putting it out there. However, I've been in and around plumbing repair for 25 years. I'm a little biased.
