what do I do Here?

This is a picture of the place where I drain water from my camper. It is the low point. One of them was stuck when I tried to take the cap off. The one on the right. So I broke it accidentally when yanking on it to try to get it loose. Do I have to pull the whole tube now? It doesn't seem that what is remaining can unscrew, but rather I have to get inside the camper and unscrew the whole tube from the pipe. Is that right.

  • this is a easy fix, if your not good at this call a mobil tech, or a friend that knows a little about plumbing.
  • I agree, I would use Shark-Bite shutoffs. Cut both off at the top of each fitting and install 1/4 turn Shark-Bite Shutoff valves. Ball valves would also work well and would be an easy install.
  • Sharkbites are OK... but there is just one O-ring which easily gets nicked during the install and erodes via chlorine. I'd recommend Flair-It fittings, because they "squeeze" a much larger chunk of the PEX pipe. They are not expensive too -- you can get a ball valve for $10, and they install with no tools, as well as come apart without tools.
  • What about Shark-bite connectors for pex tubing.

I used them when doing some plumbing improvement modifications on mine.
  • YEP.......
Cut the PEX pipe into and add a shutoff valve to each low point line

You could then add a garden hose adapter and use HOT/Cold to wash things off using on-board pump
  • Our low point drains always had a shutoff inside the TT but if you don't, cut off the end and glue a new end on.
