- bcbigfootExplorerFrom best to, well, lesser best.
1} replacing the awful scissor steps with a platform and electric steps
2} 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter
3} heated AGM batteries for extra amps in winter.
4) 4 gauge charge wire from truck to camper.
5) water accumulator.
6) air deflector (noise reduction)
7) extra insulation
8) added gen. compartment.
9) solar panel
10) drinking water filter - btggraphixExplorerMight sound odd, but most important mod for us was correcting the big issue with our 1191 to begin with: poor duct routing and insufficient warmth in the basement and especially in the service bay where the dump valves are. It literally prevented us from camping in the winter due to freezing valves and poor heat distribution. It isn't the 'sexiest' of mods and I can't even show it to people really, but it allowed us to camp in the winter comfortably without worry. We are camped in it right now and digging it. Every winter I am grateful I put the effort in to do that work.

Most valuable for Me?
Well there are a whole bunch of modifications I have done and some spent a bunch of $$$$. But hands down the one I enjoy the most, is a real simple one;
The key hook by the door. That way I can reach it from the outside, without climbing in (I have a very high camper) and I can reach the hook from the inside too.
O.K. I like my solar a whole bunch too.

5. AC heater and AC hot water heater - 69_AvionExplorerI bought my camper in 1983 and only used it once or twice. I decided to rebuild it last year and use it instead of buying a small TT. So, I built a trailer for it, along with a complete overhaul of the camper.
The nicest additions or changes were:
LED lights,
40 gallons of water instead of 30,
20 gallon grey water tank,
extra water under trailer,
20 gallons of gasoline under trailer,
60# extra LP,
30,000 btu Camp Chef stove,
exterior shower with exterior water heater,
solar, 250 watt 24v panel with MPPT controller,
Now it is set up to do the kind of boondocking that I like to do. - rottidawgExplorer
