I use a beat up old Dodge 3500 dually as a my daily driver. It's single wheel now but the length and width were never a problem
As someone else said, there is no such thing as too much truck. Unless you're a slave to a huge payament no RV owner ever said "I wish i didn't have so much towing capacity"
If you go with a fully loaded HD 1 ton, like a doge megacab with a manual trans, etc I think you'll have minimal depreciation as the hotshot guys love to get the used trucks from RV folks who have not abused them.
