The late model GM pickups are far removed from those of the eighties and nineties which some have mentioned. Having said that, I felt like I was near the max with my 2012 Silverado 1500 towing 7,500 pounds. Rather than add the improvements, I traded for a 2013 2500HD and like it much better as a tow vehicle.
