2007 Ram 1500 Hemi, 4x4, 3.92 rear 20" tires pulling a Jayco Eagle at 7,000 pounds. The power train was more than capable, but I never felt that the 1/2 ton was a stable enough towing platform for my trailer. As others said, payload is another issue.
Traded my Ram 1500 4 months ago for a left over 2012 Ram 2500. I will never go back to a 1/2 ton unless I got back to a pop-up.
